What
is available?
Ecotherapy
can be delivered in many different forms, depending on whether you want
individualised one-to-one sessions or to take part in group based activities.

It
is flexible and adapted to the particular needs of an individual,
group or organisation. Depending on your needs it can be as short
as several regular one hour sessions or a workshop or retreat lasting
several days.
It
may also be effectively combined with your normal 'Indoor Therapy'
sessions.

A
very effective method of personal change, using all the benefits of
counselling, psychotherapy and coaching, combined with relaxing, fun
and challenging outdoor activities which use the natural environment,
in order to aid your self-exploration and understanding, and stimulate
your natural healing processes.
Suitable
for anyone, but particularly effective for those who love nature
and the outdoors, or those who feel uncomfortable with the traditional
idea of therapy. May be successfully combined with my standard sessions
held in my consulting room.

Usually held
in the local nature reserve in Chorlton, or if you prefer a longer or
more challenging session, or a different location, it can be held further
afield, if you book a longer session.
Book a 1 hour, multi-hour, half day or full day session.

make use of the natural environment to aid self exploration, reflection
and integration
- Lasting
up to 90 minutes in the local nature reserve
- Complements
and works well with my office based 1-2-1 sessions or the nature-based
group sessions.
- Ecotherapies
usually rely less on talking and intellectualisation, and more on experiential
learning to increase self awareness and produce deep changes. This make
it more suitable for those who either can't or don't want to talk in
great depth about their thoughts, behaviours and feelings.
- All treatment
is carried out in a confidential, highly constructive, relaxed, supportive
and non-judgemental environment

Combined
Indoor Therapy and Outdoor Ecotherapy Sessions
Your therapy
will take place both inside and outside of the therapy room. This is a
particularly effective method of personal change as it combines the therapeutic
advantages of both the indoor and outdoor settings. It uses all the benefits
of counselling, psychotherapy and coaching, combined with relaxing and
sometimes challenging outdoor activities which encourage a connection
with the natural world, to aid your self-exploration and understanding,
and stimulate your natural healing processes.

The
indoor and outdoor sessions are usually pre-planned so you know
where and when our next meeting is due to occur. But if mutually
agreed, a change of environment may occur spontaneously during the
session if the need arises. So do attend your sessions prepared
and dressed to go outside. The session format is slightly longer
than normal therapy sessions to allow for transition times.
Nature-based
therapy and coaching is suitable for anyone, but particularly effective
for those who love nature and the outdoors, or those who feel uncomfortable
with the traditional idea of therapy.

day workshop and retreat (2 nights). Arrive mid-afternoon Friday,
leave mid-afternoon Sunday.
- Ecotherapies

can't or don't want to talk in great depth about their thoughts,
behaviours and feelings.
- Small
group size to ensure individual attention.
- You
will be wild camping and living in a beautiful woodland in North
Wales for the entire duration of the workshop.
- You
will be expected to bring your own basic camping gear, cooking
equipment, and food. A camp fire is available for cooking.
- A
kit list of what you need to bring and directions to the woodland
will be provided once you book.
