What ecotherapies are available?

Ecotherapy can be delivered in many different forms, depending on whether you want individualised one-to-one sessions or to take part in group based activities.

It is flexible and adapted to the particular needs of an individual, group or organisation. Depending on your needs it can be as short as 1 hour or last several days.

Ecotherapy for Individuals:

Private One-to one Sessions

Ecotherapy/Wilderness Therapy/Walking Therapy/Natural Awareness Therapy 1-2-1 Sessions

A very effective method of personal change, using all the benefits of counselling, psychotherapy and coaching, combined with walking and outdoor activities which use the natural environment, in order to aid your self-exploration and understanding, and stimulate your natural healing processes.

Suitable for anyone, but particularly effective for those who love nature and the outdoors, or those who feel uncomfortable with the traditional idea of therapy. May be successfully combined with my standard sessions held in my consulting room.

Usually held in the local nature reserve in Chorlton, or if you prefer a longer or more challenging walk, or a different location, it can be held further afield, if you book a longer session.

Book a 1 hour, multi-hour, half day or full day session.

  • Booked at a time to suit you
  • Lasting up to 90 minutes in the local nature reserve
  • Complements and works well with my group nature-based sessions
  • All treatment is carried out in a confidential, highly constructive, relaxed, supportive and non-judgemental environment
  • All exercises make use of the natural environment to aid exploration, reflection and integration
  • Advantages over group nature-based sessions (meaning quicker resolution):
    • Highly focused on your specific issues
    • Personal attention
    • The process is tailored uniquely to you and your requirements
    • More flexible time-wise. You book at a time that is convenient to you.
    • Less potential distraction
    • Highly confidential
  • Disadvantages over group sessions:
    • Group feedback gives multiple perspectives and greater opportunity for learning and growth
    • You miss out benefits gained from group interactions
    • Group sessions are cheaper as the cost is spread between attendees

Public Ecotherapy Workshops and Groups

- Weekend Ecotherapy based personal development workshops

  • 3 day workshops (2 nights). Arrive mid-afternoon Friday, leave mid-afternoon Sunday.
  • Small group size to ensure individual attention.
  • You will be camping and living in a beautiful woodland in North Wales for the entire duration of the workshop.
  • You will be expected to bring your own basic camping gear, cooking equipment, and food. A camp fire is available for cooking.
  • A kit list of what you need to bring and directions to the woodland will be provided once you book.

    • Cheaper as the cost is spread between attendees
    • Feedback from multiple perspectives giving greater opportunity for learning
    • Benefit from group interaction
  • Disadvantages over 1-2-1 sessions:
    • May be less focused on your specific issues
    • Less flexible time-wise. You need to attend the group on set days & times.
    • Less time for individual attention
    • Potentially more distraction from other group members
    • Potentially less confidential
